LVT floor cleaning Banbury

This commercial LVT floor cleaning in Banbury was carried out over a couple of weekends along with all of their carpet cleaning which they get done annually. Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is a really hard wearing and durable flooring which is a great option for a commercial environment with high footfall. With these particular floors being textured however, dirt gets trapped in the grooves of the floor which builds up over time and cannot be removed simply by mopping as it needs a good scrub. With the appropriate products and machinery we were able to lift all of the dirt and extract it off the floor, giving them a really good, deep clean and leaving them looking as good as they did the day they were laid. The floors look fresher, brighter and so much cleaner giving a much better impression to visitors of the company and a healthier, more pleasant environment for the staff.

Swimming pool floor cleaning Oxfordshire

It is not often we get asked to do swimming pool floors, but we were happy for the opportunity to carry out this swimming pool floor cleaning in Banbury. The floors were very grubby as well as having a build up of calcium scale deposits which was very bad in places. We stripped and deep cleaned the floors including all grout lines, and due to the textured tiles a lot of the scale required hand scraping where it could not be fully removed with the machine particularly where the machine couldn’t reach for example around the step handles. We then neutralised it all to finish providing a clean, hygienic, neutral PH floor safe to walk on with bare feet. There are more things to consider working so close to water such as risks of falling in, working with electrical equipment close to water, preventing contaminants from getting in the water etc. We used flood barriers in the section we were working, and ensured that we extracted up the slurry quickly to control the risk of contamination. This worked very effectively, and then we were able to work on the very edge by hand. The pool cover was also on which helped to further protect the pool water. The area consisted of the swimming pool surround, entrance area and 2x changing rooms. It all cleaned up brilliantly and you can see the great before and after photos below.

Commercial stone floor clean and seal Oxford

This is the Saloon at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire which we completed a while back. It had years of old layers of seal and dirt to strip off to get the floor back to the bare stone and get it all nice and clean before sealing. This is the same type of floor – Portland stone – as the Great Hall which we did previously and also their Orangery which we have done many times before. We did this floor in two halves whilst the Palace was still open to the public, so we were very much an exhibit which many of the public were finding very satisfying and interesting to watch.

You can see in the before photos below that the limestone floor was very patchy and discoloured, with layers of old seal and dirt.

Below is a section of the floor after we had stripped it back and before sealing. It looked lovely even at this stage as a bare and natural, clean limestone floor but a shiny finish was requested so of course this is what we delivered. We could have used stone polishing processes to create a shine and then applied an impregnating seal, but as this is a high traffic area with the public walking through, they specifically wanted the floor to have a topical seal put on to protect it.

The before/after photos do not do it justice, but there is a great difference and the floors look absolutely stunning! The limestone looks so much brighter and whiter, and the shine gives it the wow factor. Staff commented that they had never seen the floor looking so good!

Commercial wood floor cleaning and waxing Oxfordshire

Here at Floor Restore we offer wood floor cleaning in Oxfordshire and parts of the surrounding counties. This can often be more than sufficient instead of going to the cost and hassle of sanding, and is also perfect for floors such as this one at Blenheim Palace which is 300+ years old and of course needed to maintain its beautiful aged appearance and patina.

Following other restoration works, tape marks had been left on the floor as well as general grubbiness and dust. There were also other existing stains and marks. The floor needed to be brought back up to a good standard ready for re-opening so we stripped the floor right back of all existing wax finishes and deep cleaned and neutralised before applying several coats of a liquid wax and buffing to a nice sheen.

The floor is now lovely and clean with all tape marks and most other marks removed. It has a more uniform finish and a beautiful lustre to it. The liquid wax finish was already being used by the Palace and is great for maintenance as they can top it up and buff it by themselves as and when necessary to maintain the finish.

Palace stone floor cleaning Oxfordshire

Limestone cleaning and sealing Oxfordshire

We were asked to restore the Great Hall floor at Blenheim Palace prior to their re-opening to the public. The Palace staff had previously been applying layer upon layer of seal to give a nice shine prior to events etc over 30+ years so the floor had become very built up with old seal with dirt sealed in making the floor look dull, patchy, dirty and discoloured. We unfortunately do not have any good before photos of the whole floor but the below shows some close ups of what it was like.

Stripping back the floor of all the old seal was a real mission and required some pretty intensive stripping and re-surfacing, going over the floor multiple times, and even scraping by hand in places. This took the majority of the time but you can see a real difference in the pictures below to the ones above! The stone looks much brighter and lighter and really brightens up the whole space. We then deep cleaned and neutralised the whole floor before applying several coats of a low sheen topical seal as this was the preferred finish the Palace had requested. It gives a lovely sheen to the floor and a durable, protective coating to allow for easier maintenance and prevent staining etc.

The below photos show the floor half finished and then completed. Restored to its former glory and all clean and hygienic ready for re-opening. It looks gorgeous and the Palace staff are very happy. They had been wanting it done for years so were over the moon that it had finally been done!

The before and after pictures of this cobbled stone floor cleaning in Oxfordshire that we carried out are amazing! Being in a farm and countryside environment and an extremely busy hub of the resort it is in, these floors do take a real battering and become very grubby very quickly. This is a beautiful little church in Bletchingdon, Oxford which we cleaned and sealed the floors in.
